Web Colors
Web colors are the colors used in displaying web pages on the World Wide Web. They can be described by way of three methods:
- RGB triplet: A color is specified as a combination of red, green, and blue values, each ranging from 0 to 255. For example, rgb(255, 0, 0) represents the color red.
- Hexadecimal format: A color is specified using a six-digit hexadecimal number, where each pair of digits represents the intensity of red, green, and blue, respectively. For example, #FF0000 represents the color red.
- Common English name: In some cases, a color can be specified using its common English name, such as "red", "green", or "blue".
Web colors have an unambiguous colorimetric definition, sRGB, which relates the chromaticities of a particular phosphor set, a given transfer curve, adaptive whitepoint, and viewing conditions. This ensures that colors are displayed consistently across different devices and browsers.
